Read More…PCBs and FR4 front panel (only) for a voltage controlled all pass filter synth module. This module is in LMNC's Kosmo format (20 cm high) and is 5 cm wide.
Unlike most synth filters which are intended to change the sound of an audio signal, this module is designed to do voltage controlled morphing of a low frequency waveform. There are inputs for the waveform and the control voltage, and outputs for 1- and 2-pole all pass filters.
By sweeping the control voltage from high to low the output waveform goes from resembling the input, through a continuous shape variation, and ending up again resembling the input either inverted (1-pole) or non inverted (2-pole). The shapes in between differ for the 1- and 2-pole outputs. The result is a continuously changing low frequency wave shape, great for modulating signals in other modules in new and unexpected ways.
It will work as above with any input waveform except a sine. Sine waves will come out still looking like sine waves, though with a phase shift; this can be useful behavior as well, for instance to produce two modulated signals where the modulations are out of phase with each other.
The user needs to source parts and assemble them. (Photo of my own assembled module for illustrative purposes only.) Easy through-hole construction.
