Add AUX audio input to your ~2001-07 Ford vehicle with this specially designed Arduino shield. Use the stock radio head unit to control playback on your iPhone!

The Ford vehicle generation ~2001-2007 does not have any built in AUX audio capability so this Arduino shield adds that capability. This shield allows you to use the physical Ford head unit playback control buttons to control audio playback on your iPhone. Native playback commands are directly passed to the iPhone through the audio cable, no additional "apps" or setup needed!

This product kit contains only 2x PCB and headunit connector. It does NOT come assembled (but will look like the pictured purple shield once you gather the components in the BOM and finish assembly). Contact me directly for an assembled version.

Different Ford vehicle trims within the same generation and model year have varying head unit installations. This kit likely compatible with ~2001-07 head units that use a 2x6 pin connector to communicate with the vehicle CD changer. See the Github repo for more vehicle compatibility info.
