What is it?

Replacement hinge swive for WH-1000MX4 sony headphones but its also an upgrade.

Why did you make it?

The original component is well known for breaking. The internet’s solution is to buy the same plastic part over and over. I have designed and made this out of 3D printed stainless steel.

What makes it special?

Much stronger, it makes little sense to replace a part that is prone to breaking with the same part. I have tested these metal hinges on my headphones for over 2 months with no issues. Bracket is stainless so will not corrode over the years.

Due to the nature of 3d printed metal this part does not have the tolerances a injection moulded abs part has, you can see from the pictures there is a larger gap between parts but it all still securely locks together.
