What is Sensus?

Sensus is a multi-purpose, ultra low-power sensor that can be used to monitor room temperature & humidity, illuminance, as well as soil moisture and soil temperature 🍃. It started as a plant-monitoring sensor, but evolved in time into something more general.

Sensus transmits data via Bluetooth Low Energy advertising packets and/or USB if plugged in. It is compatible with Homeassistant out-of-the-box thanks to the BTHome data format so it will simply appear in your device list in Home Assistant.

It can run for up to 1 year on a good quality CR2032 battery and can be configured and updated via a command-line program.

You can use Sensus to monitor the health of your plant, or to simply monitor the temperature, humidity and illuminance in your home and integrate that information in your automations!

Unlike other plant monitoring sensors, the probe part that goes in the soil is detachable and therefor easily replaceable.

How do you use it?

Just power it on via USB or with the included coin-cell battery and it should appear inside Homeassistant as Sensus.

Then simply check the discovered devices and click "Configure".
