What it is & what you get:

NOTE: THIS IS VERSION 2 of the Flasher aka V3 (SAME SCHEMATIC NEW LAYOUT)

This is my version of an ESP8266 Flasher/Programmer. For those oh so famous ESP8266 wifi modules, which i also carry :)

This PCB is does NOT HAVE THROUGH HOLE PARTS SOLDERED:

1x PCB (ALL SMT PARTS ARE SOLDERED ON)
2x 4x1 MALE HEADERS (TO BREADBOARD)
1x 4x2 FEMALE HEADER (FOR ESP)

DOES NOT INCLUDE: 6x1 FEMALE HEADER for UART port.

UART PORT is

- = GND
- = 3.3v
RX = RX
TX = TX

Why did you make it?

A few people has asked me for this and i wanted to make the people happy. Being able to reprogram or flash this wifi SOC is one of the best features on it. Customizing this module is one of the newest crazes to hit the tech scene.

What makes it special?

It's small, it hangs off the PCB, it has a built in PROG switch and RESET button. All resistors on board.

Quick How-To

Tested with Espressif's official esp8266_flasher program.

To Program/Flash the module, PUSH the slide switch to the "PROG" side and press "RST" button. Now it is in FLASH mode.

To use for NORMAL operation simply slide the switch to the "NORM" side and press "RST" button. Now it is in NORMAL mode.

ALL THROUGH HOLE PARTS ARE NOT SOLDERED, REQUIRES SOLDERING

Excellent product backed by great support

As a novice who's trying to work a lot with breadboards, I've purchased several convenient and time-saving products from AtomSoftTech. Their quality is excellent, and I've had no trouble soldering on the headers for those products that come with them separate. My ESPBuddy v2 worked perfectly the first time I used it, in contrast to the several hours I spent trying to connect everything with ribbon cable and switch between normal and flash-burning mode.

I'd also like to compliment AtomSoftTech on their support, which has been superb. My rookie questions were answered more quickly than I could have hoped, and always in a patient and friendly way.

It's great to have so many "buddies" when you're starting out in electronics... thanks again!
