Make it easier to incorporate common PC fans into your projects.

This device allows you to power both both 4-pin and 3-pin 12V PC fans using the 5V from a USB power source!

The speed of the fan is controllable through a knob, and there is a button which allows you to toggle between compatibility with 4-pin or 3-pin 12V PC fans.

How It Works

The 5V provided over the USB Miro connector is boosted up to 12V to power the fans.

With the 4-Pin mode, the board provides a constant 12V to the Fan, and provides a PWM signal to the fan to indicate the desired speed.

With the 3-Pin mode, the board provides a variable voltage to the the fan between 5V and 12V to control the fan speed.

The board can handle plenty of power! Multiple PC fans can be driven at once. However, users must take caution with the amount of power they are taking from the chosen USB power source.

Instructions

• Turn knob to power on and set fan speed
• Control mode is default 4-pin fan mode
• Press blue button to toggle between 4-pin and 3-pin fan control mode
• Press and hold the blue button to save the current fan control mode to memory
