The Galaxia Art Badge 2020 is an Unofficial Indie Badge designed for Defcon 28 and uses a 4017 & 555 timer device. A trimpot can adjust the rate of the clock on the 555 timer chip which drives each step of the 4017 decade counter and powers the LEDs that become part of the animated art scene.

Keep it as a badge or transform it into whatever you desire. Easily convertible to a baby 10 sequencer.

I wanted to make a badge to commemorate the 1st annual hack-a-sat competition. The scene depicts an astronaut and hacked satellite against the backdrop of an intergalactic invasion.

This was my first attempt to make a perpetually animating scene, similar to niche clocks and wall hangings found in flea markets and Chinese takeout places. It also has a SAO port so you can accessorize the badge.

Includes a lanyard, instructions, a Mr. Robopoly Add-On, and stickers.

Due to the increased concern over disposable lithium power supplies, this years badge will not include batteries and we ask that you invest in some rechargeable CR2032s (This badge takes two).
