What is it?

This is an Indoor Thermometer with Temperature displayed on 1 of 20 LED's. Temperature range is 64 to 83 Degrees F.

Why did you make it?

I wanted to simulate the old style Mercury-Bulb type Thermometers.

What makes it special?

The Kit uses LED's to display Temperature creating a unique Temperature readout. It implements the LM34DZ Temperature Sensor that has a guaranteed accuracy of ½ degree at room temperature. Overall Temperature accuracy is ±1°. The Kit contains all necessary components including the Wall Adapter Power Supply. This power adapter is a switching regulator that provides a stable +12vdc at 1 amp (Center Pin Positive). It also has Over-Voltage protection, Over-Current protection and Over-Temperature protection making it very safe for home use. The PCB is made of high quality Fiberglass-Epoxy material with full plated-through holes and is 1/16 inch thick. PCB dimensions are 6.0" x 2.25".

This Kit would make an excellent Educational Platform that can be used to teach Soldering Skills, Temperature measurement, Resistor Color Codes, Voltage Regulation and Product Calibration. Upon completion of the Training Session, the student would have a product to take home, show to family and friends and be proud of. Additionally, it provides the obvious function of room temperature and can be hung on the wall as "Wall Art".
