What is it?

A kit that fits into Gameboy pocket shells (new replacements can be bought new) that creates a portable homebrew and retro gaming system. It uses a Raspberry Pi Compute module 3 for a heart and is capable of playing a variety of retro consoles.

• 100% no soldering required for the CM3 (exception is the joystick if wanted, this requires you solder it on).
• Haptic engine to accent key presses and give indications of low battery. Fully accessible via the Pi so can be easily customised with a bit of programming skill.
• DPAD, A, B, X and Y buttons on the front, along with L1, R1, L2 and R2 on the back.

I have a huge passion for the Gameboy Pocket form factor and I loved the idea of having a device that could play a variety of retro consoles so I could access the all of the games I've hoarded since childhood. I've also been blown away with the homebrew scene, the complexity of some of the games created using such limited hardware is astounding so I wanted a way to play them on the go!

It takes the power of the Raspberry Pi Compute module 3 and makes it portable! And it all fits into a pocket form factor.
