Minor: Arduino Audio Development Board

Minor: Arduino Audio Development Board is a development and prototyping board for Arduino and audio. It uses an arduino nano, 8 buttons, 2 potentiometers, an on board Piezo speaker and an OLED display for quickly integrating a visual display.

I designed this board to assist with developing basic instruments and synthesizers using the Arduino’s PWM pins (in this case pin D9). The small switch allows the user to toggle between the onboard piezo speaker and the 1/8” audio jack out to an external source. The buttons come pre-routed to pins on the arduino (D2,D3,D4,D5,D6,D7,D8,D10) but are not necessary to the function of the board. They add a level of convenience should some sort of user interface be helpful for the project being developed. The same is true for the 2 potentiometers (A6, A7). The open platform of an oled display (pinout from left to right: GND, VCC, SCL, SDA) lets the user incorporate an interface, an onboard serial readout for debugging, or any sort of visual content. By coming with all the connections pre routed, this pcb allows for a plug and play style prototyping platform.

What sets this board apart from most is the incorporated design elements. Even though this is a development board, I hoped to put some spectacle into the design. The compact layout allows for a maximized footprint. This board is meant to be the foundational building block of any Arduino audio project.
