Read More…This is an experimental synthesizers packed with elements (see images above for flow chart). The devices has a built in lfo but can also be synced with external gear. The lfo triggers the clock divider. the clock divider then triggers the envelopes. To select which stage of the clock divider triggers each envelope, there is a set of jumpers that can select on of the divisions (see image). The attack and decay of the envelope then modulate the cutoff frequency of a low pass filter. a set of 3 individually tunable reverse avalanche oscillators goes through each filter (for a total of 9 oscillators). The output of each filter is fed into an adjustable channel of the mixer. All feed to a single audio output.
This listing is for the PCB Only. Assembled units are only shown for reference.
This experimental synth is great for making strange growling drones and chirping effects. I've also gotten some bizzare robotic screams and car alarms out of it.
See this video demo if you're curious how this one sounds!
**NOTE ON CAPACITORS: Each oscillator has a suggested capacitor value but these can be adjusted for different sounds. A higher value capacitor will give a lower range of sound (i.e. a 10uf capacitor will give a much higher pitch than a 100uf capacitor). Going too high will just sound like clicking (sort of like an lfo). I suggest picking a capacitor somewhere between 100uf and 1uf.
Requires +-12v to run! (a regular 12VDC power supply will not work! needs -12v as well as +12v)
Board comes at 22.4cm*13.5cm. This product is just the board, no components are included. Power cable is not included.
