This board design was one of the last used by Acorn.

Other Information

Over the past 30+ years, there have been many boards that have become damaged for various reasons such as poor storage conditions etc.

The replica boards are of the same dimensions of the original and can therefore be used as a direct replacement to the original PCBs.

Some improvements/modifications were made:

Improved silkscreen, adding more descriptive connector labels, IC names and better placed component labels
Manufactured using modern PCB manufacturing techniques and materials.
Composite video connector footprint moved to be aligned with the case so a standard composite connector can be used instead of the BNC type if desired.
Some passive components moved slightly to give a better clearance to neighboring components.
Extra GND holes on DIN connectors to allow for a larger variety of replacements to be used.
Footprint added for standard pushbutton reset switch (Original footprint is retained, but it was not populated by Acorn as far as I know)

Prototype boards were tested as far as possible at each stage of the circuitry to ensure no issues were encountered. Currently available PCB has no known issues.

Great quality PCB, well packaged and starting components!

Not that I am huge expert in PCB design and frabircations, but this feels very well made, study and the print is excellent no faults at all. I also appreciate the opportunity to order additional components to get me started. Its taken me ~3 months to get the rest and I have made a start! Brilliant!! love it

Well I was so excited that Bob had done this, I have always wanted to have a go a building a computer from scratch and the BBC B will always be my favourite. Well this week I finished it and it worked perfectly.

There are a few tips though worth mentioning. Ideally you need a donor computer. Some ICs you just cant get such as the video ULA, also its almost impossible to obtain the correct relay and some of the DIN sockets. Also if you go for IDC Box connectors with clips make sure they are the smaller clips else it won't fit in the case (I had to remove some off mine, and then used non clipping idc for the rest. With the ULA there s a small mod you have to do if its the VC2023. also if you have a donor machine then there is a god chance that all the jumpers will be in the right position and you can copy that as a starter! Best thing since......the BBC.

Regarding the BBC Model B Issue 7 Replica Board. There is nothing I can say that would be complimentary enough. The board is of a high quality and is appears in every way to be an exact match to the donor boards I have. For years I have harbored plans for a replica or reproduction of the Venerable Beeb and now here is the perfect enabler. Over the years I have accumulated a number of second hand BBC's all have exhibited one issue or another at various intervals. Now I have an opportunity to assemble one from the ground up - could never have hoped to do so before this replica BBC. Thank's a mill.
