These are replica Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) derived from the Amstrad CPC6128 8-bit computer.

The boards were created to allow Amstrad CPC6128 computers that had damaged or faulty PCBs to be successfully repaired. This can be achieved by moving all components from an original board to the replica board, or even replace some parts with more modern alternatives.

We currently have 1 x replica board model available:

This board design was the second of 3 main revisions of the 6128 mainboard. This board only allows the newer 40010 Gate Array. It requires 16 x 8KB RAM ICs and many logic ICs and custom ICs for full operation.

Other Information

Over the past 35+ years, there have been many boards that have become damaged for various reasons such as poor storage conditions.

The replica boards are of the same dimensions of the originals and can therefore be used as a direct replacement to the original PCBs.

Some improvements/modifications were made:

• Improved silkscreen, adding IC names and better placed component labels including component values and extra information on the under-side of the PCB.
• Manufactured using modern PCB manufacturing techniques and materials.
• ENIG (Gold plated) edge connectors to reduce corrosion and wear

Prototype boards were thoroughly tested to ensure no issues were encountered. Current boards for sale have no known issues and require no "bodges".
