Easily Add Lighting Effects to Any Model

This kit has been our best-selling starter kit for more than 10 years. It's the best of all worlds: you get six warm white Pico LED lights, everything you need to connect, install, and power them, plus a Brickstuff Single-Function Lighting Effect Controller (LEC) with 12 effect patterns. The lights are small enough to fit just about anywhere, and the wires are thin enough to fit between LEGO® bricks and into other tight spaces. They're also strong enough to stand up to frequent use and repeat installation/re-use.

Works Right Out of the Box

The star of this kit is our 12-Effect Single-Function Lighting Effect Controller, which we hand-make in our Minnesota, USA shop. Pre-loaded with our custom code that creates the different effects (for which you can select and control the brightness/intensity/speed), this little controller packs a ton of power. Don't let the controller's small size fool you-- it has two output channels, each of which can operate more than 100 lights. You can adjust the appearance and function of the effects using the controller's onboard dial, button, and switch. You can even set a random on/off mode that will toggle the connected lights at random intervals.

Here's a list of the lighting effects pre-loaded onto the controller:

1. On/Off with selectable dimming
2. 2-channel flicker with adjustable intensity
3. Pulse with adjustable speed and brightness
4. Glimmer with adjustable brightness and glimmering speed
5. Pulsing jet or space ship engines with adjustable pulse depth and speed
6. Airport runway-style back-and-forth pulsing with adjustable speed
7. Flashing with adjustable speed
8. Single strobe with adjustable speed
9. Double strobe with adjustable speed
10. Blinkylights (imagine a mad scientist computer panel filled with randomly-flashing lights)
11. Laser cannon (dual-fire, alternating channels)
12. Cannon with explosion (one output channel is a randomly-firing cannon and the other channel is a flickering fire that ignites after the cannon fires, then slowly fades out before the next blast)

The LEDs included with this kit are pre-soldered to thin, round little circuit boards that are just 4mm in diameter. Each LED has a pre-soldered resistor to work at 5 volts, and the boards are pre-soldered to 12-inch (30.8cm) 32-gauge wires with small JST connectors on one end. These plugs work throughout the Brickstuff system, so you can use the LED lights in this kit with any of our other products to easily expand your lighting setup in the future.

This kit includes everything you need to get started:

• Six warm white Pico LEDs with 12-inch (30.8cm) wires and connectors.
• Six expansion boards to allow connection of the Pico LED lights in various configurations.
• Eight connecting cables of varying lengths to connect to power or other components such as lighting effect controllers.
• One 3xAA battery pack with on-off switch (batteries not included).  Each battery pack can power 100 lights or more, depending on how the lights are connected and the type of batteries used.
• 8 self-adhesive squares for mounting in just about any location or configuration.
