EtchABot is a kit that turns your pocket-size Etch A Sketch into a self-erasing CNC drawing machine. The EtchABot Arduino library on GitHub allows for easy programming of the EtchABot to create your own applications, or use the existing sketches that turn Etch A Bot into:

• An analog clock
• A self-erasing Spirograph
• A joystick-controlled doodler
• A computer-controlled image drawing machine

• Pocket size Etch A Sketch (x1)

• ULN2003 stepper motor drivers (x3)

How did EtchABot come to be?

EtchABot started out as a fun way to reproduce other mechanized Etch A Sketches on the internet, but I found the existing projects difficult to replicate. I set out to make something that anyone could build, and that would be easy to program and use. I think it makes a great educational project for someone learning about Arduino coding and stepper motors, as well as a unique executive desk toy - use it as a fun way to display messages and pictures daily.

What makes it special?

What's unique about EtchABot is its easy to build frame and extensible software library. Additionally, it's a versatile kit. It comes with the capability of being built into four different projects. The Arduino library written specifically for EtchABot allows it to be easily modded and extended into an original project as well.
