Creating your own digital scoreboard can add a professional touch to indoor games. This guide provides detailed instructions for building a DIY digital scoreboard with 5mm LEDs, offering a range of features and easy assembly.

Features

• Supports 2 Players/Teams: This Scoreduino based scoreboard is ideal for two-player or team games.
• Programmable: Use an FTDI basic breakout board for easy programming.
• LED Display: The display features a common anode LED, measuring 10.2cm (4 inches) x 4.8cm (1.8 inches), with 5mm LEDs in RED (left) and GREEN (right).
• Dimensions: The PCB measures 301mm x 144.8mm.
• Compatibility: Works with SCORE4 and SCORE4T apps for versatile control.
• App-Controlled: Send specific numbers to the displays using the app.
• Display Logic: For scores from 0-9, the left digit remains off (e.g., 7 is displayed as 7, not 07).
• Bluetooth Communication: Connects to the app via Bluetooth for seamless control.
• Simultaneous Control: You can control two scoreboards simultaneously with the app.
• Non-Resetting: The scoreboard retains its state even if Bluetooth is disconnected.
• Remote Control: Can be controlled with a 4-channel RF remote control.
• Manual Control: Use switches to manually adjust the score.
• Power Supply: Operates with a 12V-1A power supply.

To build this scoreboard, we have combined three modules.

SCOREDUINO-B: The central module of the scoreboard, this controller supports both Bluetooth and RF modules. Communicates with two-digit displays placed on either side. Read more about Scoreduino-B.

Right Display

• Receives up and down count commands from the Scoreduino-B controller.
• Commands can be sent via RF remote control or the SCORE4 module of the Scoreduino app.
• Supports sending specific numbers to the display.

Left Display

Functions similarly to the right display, receiving commands from the Scoreduino-B controller. Supports both up and down count commands and specific number inputs.

Supporting Modules:

- RF Receiver and Remote Control: Uses a basic 4-channel RF module and remote control to send commands to the scoreboard. - HC-06 Bluetooth Module: Allows control via the SCORE4 module of the Scoreduino app, communicating through Bluetooth.

Compatible Apps:

• Score4 App: Basic control without a timer function.
• Score4T App: Includes a timer controller function.

How It Works To understand the working principle of the scoreboard, consider the following modules:
