'FLIP-FLOP' is a standalone external floppy drive emulator for the Sharp X68000 machines (all models except Compact ones), a home computer created in 1987 by Sharp Corporation and sold only in Japan.

FLIP-FLOP' plugs to the D-SUB 37 pin female connector on the back of X68000 tower models (no Compact).It emulates one single floppy drive at once that can be set as '0', '1', '2' or '3' according to onboard jumpers configuration.

'FLIP-FLOP' loads disk images (in .HFE and .HDM format) stored on a USB pen drive (2.0 or higher) and it's powered by FlashFloppy firmware.'FLIP'FLOP' emulates some of the proprietary X68000 FDD signals meaning it can properly run all software.LED blinking and disk image auto-eject functions are supported.

Technically speaking 'FLIP-FLOP' emulator consists of the following parts :
