Wireless high precision temperature sensor / hygrometer

Canique Climat measures temperature and relative humidity with high precision and transmits the cryptographically signed and encrypted measurement via 868 MHz link every 30 seconds. It stands out with its 10-20 years battery lifetime (using a single AA battery). It outperforms typical consumer products like sensors from Netatmo by a wide margin.

Important: This sensor needs one of these supported base stations to send data to.

What's unique about Canique Climat?

• Canique Climat is highly optimized for low power consumption. You won't find anything similar in the market at this price point with such a high battery lifetime. The battery life time is not just theoretical. Practical tests with prior revisions over a 1 year time frame have shown that the 10 year battery lifetime using an alkaline battery can be achieved easily. If you use an Energizer Lithium AA battery, then you can even expect 15-20 years battery lifetime.

• Canique Climat stands out with 256 bit symmetric encryption. It uses a cipher known from the TLSv1.3 protocol: Chacha20-Poly1305. If you look at hobbyist projects, you'll see some projects use RFM69 hardware encryption which is not a proper encryption at all because it gives the same cipher text for the same plain text. Or you'll see commercial products that don't use any encryption at all.

• Canique Climat measures its own battery voltage every hour with millivolt resolution and transmits this info to the base station.
