What is it?

This listing is for driver board for common HUB75-type RGB LED matrix panels. The unit is driven by a common ESP32 development board - the WeMos Mini D1 (or various clones) available on Amazon, ebay or several Chinese Web stores. A wide variety of panels sizes can be used and the panels can be chained together to build larger displays.

This is a fork of the v1.9 Charles-Henri Hallard's ESP32 D1 Mini D1 RGB Matrix Shield (see Github link below) which includes some new contacts for the ESP32 GPIO and additional connectors. The parent project will be updated shortly with the design files for this version.

What's in the Box

A bare PCB panel of three (3x) PCBs

Why did you make it?

This design has been released as Open Source for several years but required ordering from OSHPark along with potentially several weeks wait to receive the bare PCBs. The user then had to source the needed components and solder them up to create a functioning unit.

Robot Power decided to order these PCBs in bulk, keep them in stock and provide instant shipping to worldwide customers without the wait time for the same price as OSHPark. A kit version and fully assembled units are offered as well (separate listing). All with free shipping in the USA.
