This expansion shield for the Wirlesss Development Board found HERE has an on-board ATMega328P micro-controller who's only purpose is to serve sensor data. It offloads all of the sensor reading duties from the NodeMCU Development board and responds to simple serial queries with sensor data on-demand.

NOTE: This shield is NOT COMPATIBLE with the Arduino UNO or any other protoyping board. It is designed to fit the Wireless Development board linked above only.

NOTE2: This shield does not come with stackable headers and must mounted on TOP of any additional shields in order to access all of the sensor ports.

This shield has the following dedicated sensor ports:

• 4 ports for SR-HC04 or US-100 Ultrasonic Range Finding sensors
• 4 ports for HC-SR501 Passive Infrared Sensors Available HERE
• 4-pin I2C port for attaching additional sensors
• 4 12-bit ADC ports

• RUN/PROG switch to allow uploading new control sketch to shield
• PROG/DEBUG port for monitoring serial traffic or uploading new sketch using a USB Serial converter
• Micro-USB port for providing 5v power to board and NodeMCU Development System (see note below). A 5V power supply capable of providing 2A current is recommended
• Protection MOSFET to prevent back-powering 5v source
• 1.5A self-healing poly fuse to protect 5v source
• Power LED
• Reset button

NOTE3: Micro-USB port is for supplying 5V power only and cannot be used to program the shield.

PROGRAMMING

The CORE sketch running on this board listens for queries on the serial port and responds with sensor data.

Using a USB-Serial converter, you can modify the CORE sketch or upload your own by selecting the UNO/Genuino from the boards menu of the Arduino IDE and selecting the serial port of your USB-Serial converter.

NOTE4: The RUN/PROG switch must be placed in the PROG position to upload a sketch and then placed back into the RUN position for operation.
