Download Zadig USB driver installation tool: Zadig USB Driver Tool

Download and run Zadig tool
Plug USBasp device into USB port and allow Windows to discover it
From the OPTION menu of the Zadig tool, select 'List All Devices'
From the list of discovered devices, select 'USBasp'
Select 'libusbK (v3.0.7.0)' in the driver selection field
Click the 'Replace Driver' button
Remove USBasp device and plug back into USB port
If using Arduino IDE, Select 'USBasp' from the PROGRAMMERS menu. You don't need to select a serial port.
