Introduction

The Castellated Dreams MCP2515 CAN Bus Shield for Arduino combines CAN bus communication with added functionality from an analogue joystick and a 128x32 pixel OLED display. The shield allows you to send messages on your CAN bus network while simultaneously displaying received messages or system status, offering a convenient all-in-one solution for your projects.

This shield was designed partly as a demonstration of how to use our Nano MCP2515 CAN Bus Castellated Module. But also, based on our experience with projects like underwater robotics, Mars rovers, and rockets, having the ability to debug a CAN bus system by sending test messages and displaying received data always comes in handy. Therefore, we hope this Arduino shield can serve as a good starting point for integrating CAN bus communication into your own projects.

• CAN Bus Communication: The shield implements our own Nano MCP2515 CAN Bus Castellated Module that enables communicaiton with other nodes on your CAN bus network
• Integrated Joystick: The built-in two-axis analog joystick (connected to analog pins A0 and A1) makes it easy to send control signals or navigate through menus displayed on the OLED screen.
