Charger is based on LT3652 solar charger IC and allows you to charge lithium batteries (Li-Po, Li-ion, LiFePO4) at a rate of 1000mA (2A max).
Charger specifications:
Programmable Charge Rate (Set at 1A)
Wide Input Voltage Range: 8V to 32V (40V Abs Max)
Input Supply Voltage Regulation Loop for Peak Power Tracking in (MPPT) Solar cell (User set from 8V to 21V)
Programmable Float Voltage Up to 14.4V for Li-Ion/Polymer, LiFePO4 and SLA Chemistries (Set at 4.2V, for other voltages send us a message).
The buck-boost converter is based on the TPS63060 from TI and has 5V output.
There is also nice prototyping area available with power and ground lines running through the centre. Note: When you are finished charging your battery, it is recommended that you remove the battery from the shield, since the charge will slowly drain without proper management.
