Read More…This adapter converts the Toshiba Tecra 500/510 series laptop's proprietary HDD connector, to a standard 2.5" IDE 44-pin HDD connector. You can use normal 2.5" IDE HDD up to 17mm thickness in the Toshiba Tecra 500/510 series laptops. (but keep in mind that the laptop BIOS does not support HDD or partition larger than a certain size, I think it is 32GB or something? Just a disclaimer)

I used two types of the proprietary connector components, one does not need modification and the other has a little plastic dremeled off to fit. They all function equally well. I will ship them randomly. See the github link for detailed explanation.
