What is it?

Serial RS232 ISP Programmer. It has a cable interface corresponding the Arduino one. It can be used if the computer has "real" RS232 port (+15V/-15V). It doesn't have supply voltage to be used to power the microcontroller. The microcontroller must be supplied and a cable connection to the VC terminal of the programmer and the 5V power supply of the microcontroller must be established. As supporting software for the programmer can be used the Ponyprog. In the linked site is given the list of all supported chips. There the programmer must be defined as "SI Prog I/O". How to use the programmer is described also there.

Why did you make it?

There are a lot of different programmers on the market, but all of them have some limitations:

• The supported chips.
• The software comparability - for some specific chip is difficult to find the proper software
• Some of them are very expensive.

This programmer is also not universal, but in some cases it works on chips, where the more expensive fail.
