What is it?

A kit to make your own Neo Geo console from original MVS boards (often referred to as 'CMVS'). This kit will work with Neo Geo MVS boards with model number MV1C.

Why did you make it?

Currently, Neo Geo AES systems are extremely expensive, and the barrier of entry into the world of Neo Geo is prohibitive for most.

What makes it special?

This kit is unique in that it supports Super Nintendo controllers in place of Neo Geo controllers, making it much more affordable to get into Neo Geo. The board has two ATTINY-2313 ICs that turn the serial data from a SNES controller into parallel data, without any lag!

What does the kit include?

2x Acrylic boards (Black bottom, black translucent top)
1x PCB surround board
2x Jamma top/bottom edge bridges
2x ATTTINY2313 Atmel MCUs (pre-programmed)
2x IC Tray connectors
2x Super Nintendo Controller Ports
1x RCA (Coaxial) left/right audio connector
1x Female D-Sub 15 video connector
1x Barrel jack power connector

Type A power supply outlet is used in Americas, Thailand, China and Japan; thus power outlets from other regions will require a travel adapter or different PSU (not included).

Important!

If you do not add the MV1C board to your order, you must source your own! There are many places online to procure them. However if you need help finding a reputable source, reach out to me and I'll be happy to assist.

This board outputs a 15Khz RGB signal, exactly as produced by the Jamma edge connector, with Csync acting as Hsync; thus you will have to utilize a proper monitor, or video upscaler, that can support this signal as it is a low horizontal refresh frequency not commonly supported by modern equipment. There is a jumper to route Csync through a 470 ohm resistor if required (in cases of non TTL equipment).

Let’s Talk Shipping and Legal

Please allow a reasonable delivery window based on your country, holiday season, weather events, etc.

USA and Canada almost always takes less than 10 days.
Asian countries 3-4 weeks.
European countries 4-6 weeks.

All electronic items are carefully packaged in a well made, 200lb crush-proof box. They are not shipped in a bubble mailer; unless it is a non-electronic item such as an acrylic case. All parcels are tracked.

Lost Parcels

A parcel will be considered lost when after 60 calendar days from the last recorded activity, it does not show delivery to your address (i.e. no movement for 60 days). Full refund will be issued soon as insurer indicates paid status on claim (usually within 14 days), as buyer will have to complete a brief avadavat for the insurer.

Returns / Warranty

Defective pre-assembled electronics items (that is, items assembled by Chipnetics) may be returned, at buyers cost, for a full refund, less shipping; and must land at our office door within 21 calendar days of tracking delivery date; and be in like new (/new) condition.

Refunds will instantly be issued soon as the item has been confirmed defective.
Refunds will not be processed for returns that are lost in the mail. Be sure you insure your shipment.
Refunds due to buyers remorse or non-defectiveness (i.e. lack of understanding of product application, technical requirements, etc.) will be issued less both a $20 USD restock fee and original shipping cost.

There is no refund on kits sold by Chipnetics, after they been assembled by the customer. Refunds, less original shipping cost, will be issued on kits that are still complete and have not been assembled by the customer.

It is best to ship returns using USPS or with generic mail carriers. Shipping returns via UPS, FedEx, DHL (or any expediter) is highly discouraged, as this usually results in import duty fees. Be sure to mark returned packages as a "Commercial Return to Manufacturer Country of Origin" with $0 value, to avoid these situations - although this as well does not guarantee duties will not be applied. Any import duties paid by Chipnetics will be deducted from the refund amount - no exceptions.

Of course, in all situations, I am happy to works with buyers to resolve issues; but ultimately these terms will take precedence.

As fun to assemble as it is to actually play with.

I've been wanting a consolized MVS forever and thought about getting one off AliExpress or building my own from the open source MVS, but stumbled upon this kit instead. It was the SNES controller ports that sold me. I own an AES also and as cool as the original controllers are, the SNES controllers are just so much better overall IMO.( Even though I'm a bigger fan of the Sega Genesis 6 button controllers). I have several controllers for my SNES consoles sitting around including two asciipads with turbo functions that work great for shooters. The kit was an absolute joy to assemble myself with the help of the instruction video which made it a breeze. I thought I'd mention I tried using retrobit controllers but the inputs were off so I'll definitely be getting some 8bitdos to complete this console and be cable free. Overall great, affordable and attractive solution for getting your own MVS console.

Great product, snes ports are a great addition!

I had some fun playing MS2 and blazing star for testing and the SNES controller ports are genius. I have two of those old AES bean controllers and they suck, now I can even use my 8bitdo wireless snes controllers. My TV did not like the signal however, which was expected and I had an OSSC on hand to solve that problem for me. Great build quality as well, the acrylic feels sturdy and looks awesome!

Excellent kit!

Quality components, precise locations for stand-offs, snug fit for the MV-1C motherboard, excellent customer service.

This was a fun kit to assemble, and the finished product is aesthetically pleasing. (Looks like a hotrod!) It will be a treasured addition to my gaming collection. My only complaint is the documentation lacks a component list. Other than that, Great Job!!

Great kit! Pretty easy to install!

The Seller has great communication, the kit is well thought out and pretty easily put together. The assembly instructions on the acrylics and standoffs could be alittle clearer but has plenty of room for the NeoBiosMasta mod if you want to install that with it. Totally worth it! Also highly recommend the modified GBS-8220 makes for a great upscaler!
