Once connected to a PICKIT3 programmer, it is a minimal, yet full-fledged development system for you to experience the latest 200MHz MIPS MCU, that is the PIC32MZ series.
In terms of the software, Microchip provides full IDE with free XC32 compiler, and supporting libraries--Harmony framework.
The earlier breakout board design was for PIC32MZECH series. Due to its dwelling errata, Microchip now recommends this latest chip (with floating point support) PICM32MZEF.
This breakout has the least amount of external components, and has all the pins wired to 0.1" header. It gives user the most flexibility, yet provides a fully functional development environment.
