What is it?

CG-Anem – universal wind sensor (termoanemometer) of a modular formfactor. The module utilizes NTC thermistors as a sensing elements, which are used in a wide range of industrial devices.

The calculation of the flow rate is performed by converting the temperature difference between the hot and cold probes of the thermo-anemometer. The Steinhart-Hart equation is used to calculate the ambient temperature.

The device supports measuring and calculating the air flow rate using three different heating ranges, depending on the flow rate. The module also measures the air temperature.

Temperature measurement, calculation algorithms and data transfer via I2C with a bus frequency of up to 200 kHz are implemented on the Atmega8 microcontroller installed on the board. In order to increase energy efficiency, the module can be switched to deep-sleep mode. Provided ability to receive device current state via I2C, which allows to determine the malfunction during the module operation.

What makes it special?

1. High accuracy

Maximum error in measuring air flow velocity for CG-Anem is less than 0.3 ± 10% m/s. Measurement quality for the sensor equals to professional anemometers.

2. Precise calibration

Unlike other modular wind sensors every CG-Anem unit has a factory calibration. No need for calibration bench or additional adjustment.

3. Transfer of data in physical quantities

As an outbound I2C package, the CG-Anem generates 2 values:

• air flow velocity (m/s);
• air temperature (°C).

4. Ready to use libraries, datasheet and friendly community

The anemometr based on CG-Anem can work both in standalone mode and as part of an external Arduino, STM, Raspberry microcontroller or as part of your own device. 5. Compact dimensions

Wing sensor has size only 79 х 20 х 7 mm. So you can easily place the module in any air channel.

6. Easy to clean

In case the sensor get dirty with dust or fat it could be easily cleanned with water and napkin (cloth)
