This is an Arduino-Nano compatible controller that I call Fritzen Proto; it features the same circuit as an Arduino Nano (except it is made to work at 5V only. It doesn't feature an on-board USB to serial converter, but there is a 6-pin header to connect a FT/232RL breakout board or any other USB-to-Serial converter

Why did you make it?

I made it so I can save breadboard space (because it goes vertical on it) and can drive prototype board costs down, while having a nice product to offer with my brand-name on it.

What makes it special?

It is special for being Arduino-compatible (uses the current Arduino Nano bootloader) and being low cost (doesn't have neither a 3.3V regulator nor a USB-to-serial converter); it is also one of the few Vertically-mountable Arduino-compatibles on the market
