Selectable Precision Resistor is available in two versions: Standard and Pro. The Standard version is housed in a white enclosure, while the Pro version comes in a black enclosure. The Pro version features higher precision resistors, increased mechanical isolation, and gold-plated connections.

Selectable Precision Resistor is perfect for checking the accuracy of multimeter resistance ranges. When performing two-wire measurements, cable and connection resistance can be subtracted by first measuring between terminals of the same colour. Multimeters that support a relative mode can perform this calculation automatically. Using CheckOhm, it's easy to check if measurements meet a multimeter's accuracy specification.
Selectable Precision Resistor can also be used as a precision current shunt for accurately measuring small currents. Passing a small current through one set of terminals while measuring the voltage across the other terminals allows the current to be calculated with Ohm's law. To maintain accuracy and avoid damage, ensure the power dissipated is limited to 100 mW.
