A board with a 9 hole DIN clip mounting pattern allowing 1, 2 or 3 clips to be used to attach to a DIN rail in a horizontal or vertical orientation. Also a variety of hole patterns allow mounting some common LCDs, relay boards and prototype boards. To secure the wiring coming off the board, 6 position 5.08mm and 10 position 3.5mm terminal block footprints fanned out to headers are provided. A TO-220 with vertical heat sink footprint can be used when a device with some power handling capacity is needed. The TO-220 footprint has 2 resistor and 2 capacitor footprints connected to work with a LM317 Voltage Regulator if a small power supply is needed. The following devices are supported: 400 Pin Solderless Prototype Board 55 X 83, 4 X 20 LCD 93 X 55, 2 X 16 LCD 75 X 31, 128 X 64 Graphic LCD Display Module 88 X 64 3H, 4 Channel Relay Module 67.5 X 44.5 & 69.5 X 50, 2 Channel Relay Module 45.5 X 40.25 & 45.5 X 33.75 3H, 1 Channel Relay Module 45.5 X 20.25 3H, Time Delay Relay Module 59 X 33 & 69 X 33 & 57.5 X 32. All dimensions in millimeters, and are hole L & W if device has mounting holes, 3H indicates only 3 of 4 holes used. LCDs have datasheets to work from, other devices do not and hole pattern based on measuring actual devices. See pictures for examples of supported devices.
Why did you make it? When building control and monitoring systems, mounting the various devices was a chore. After trying a few solutions, DIN mounting everything worked out the best overall. There are many DIN devices and mounting plates for compute (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBoard, etc.) but not many for devices like LCDs, relay boards, etc. so I made this item to mount devices I use or a prototype board if testing out a circuit.
What makes it special? Can be rotated to a horizontal or vertical position, has terminal block footprints to secure wires on delicate assemblies, and has a TO-220 with heat sink footprint for designs that need to control some power. In the pictures, our DIN VESA Mounting Plate is used as a back plate for mounting the DIN rails.
