What is it?

NyanKey is a reprogrammable keypad that uses 9 mechanical keyboard switches. To program it, simply install the Arduino IDE, and update what you want the key to do. If you need help with this, feel free to contact me directly, as I can walk you through. Or, if you want it to do a specific function, you can simply contact me and I can program it for you as well. Also, AutoHotKey can help out a lot when wanting to do very specific things that the Arduino Library is not capable of doing at this time. Note: key caps, optional LED's, and enclosure are not included.

Why did you make it?

I made this because I needed media controls, but I didn't want a large keyboard that has media controls integrated, so I decided to make my own. I have found it extremely useful when working in CAD, editing and recording tracks, listening to music, and writing important emails.
