What is it?

This kit is Improved version of Squix78's ESP8266 WiFi Color Display Kit 2.4″ , it's without soldering required! You can use the ESP8266 WeatherStation Color and the PlaneSpotter Color too. The first one displays current and future weather. The second one shows air planes close to you on a map and updates them every few seconds.You can display any kind of information available from an API on the internet on a beautiful display.

Why did you make it?

A lot of people enjoy Squix78's ESP8266 WiFi Color Display Kit 2.4″, but need soldering required. So I decided to make it, without soldering required.

What makes it special?

It is easy to use and setup. I added web setup. Add Micro SD.touch to wakeup. Lithium battery charging function.

Just needs a case

Couldn't connect to my wifi whatever I did (using the captive portal), until I re-flashed the firmware.
The flashing blue led on the ESP8266 is really distracting, I had to unsolder it.
Reflashing the firmware needs quite a number of libraries, which are not all listed in the documentation, but reading the source is enough to find them.
The board is fine but would really benefit from mounting holes.
I printed myself an enclosure and I'm happy with the final product.
