This is a full QWERTY keyboard matrix with caps lock, enter, backspace, delete, directional keys, etc. It also has three LEDs, one for power, one for Caps Lock, and one for Symbol Lock. You press the Caps Lock button and it activates the Caps Lock function on your PC and if you press the Symbol Lock button it acts as a 'shift lock' key allowing you to use numbers and various symbols. You install an Arduino Pro Micro, 40 diodes, 43 push buttons, 3 LEDs, and 3 current limiting resistors for the LEDs.
I wanted to get into the world of making my own keyboard and I figured this would make for a fun proof of concept piece. Even though it is mostly functional and could be used in most situations, I don't think I would use it very often, but it will make for a great conversation piece and it was very fun to make. The sketch and the Kicad files are posted on my Github. For three dollars and a few extra bucks in parts it'll be fun for you to put together too.
