Introducing the mighty Rockit! Rockit (Rocket Operation Computing Kit) is a compact and budget-friendly flight computer designed specifically for small model rockets and water rockets. Packed with outstanding features, the Rockit boasts an RP2040 dual-core microcontroller, altimeter, accelerometer, data-logging capability to a microSD card, battery charger, and powerful electronics capable of delivering 2A at 5V to actuate two servo motors. All of these remarkable features are seamlessly integrated into a high-quality and lightweight circuit board weighing a mere 5 grams! Curious to see it in action? You can check it out here.
Or perhaps you would like to use the device as a datalogger? Because the I2C pins are accessible it is possible to attach external sensors and use the microSD card to log data, here is an example.
Effortless Operation:
Operating the Rockit is a breeze. Simply connect your battery and servo motors, and you're good to go! Rockit comes pre-loaded with firmware for your convenience. Updating the firmware is a straightforward process—just press the button while connecting Rockit to your PC using a micro-USB cable. No more hassle with external programmers! You can easily update the firmware by dragging and dropping the firmware file onto the flight computer's flash memory. If you prefer to write your own firmware, I've got you covered too. Rockit's firmware is open source, allowing you to customize it to suit your specific needs. Uploading the firmware is as simple as using the Arduino IDE, as the Rockit board is recognized as a Raspberry Pi Pico.
