This is the Tree of Life badge, designed by the DC540 group in NoVa. It's an open platform. How that's defined, for us, is that we provide a stock firmware that includes a demo, and some challenge questions, and out of the box it looks pretty and blinky. In fact, it looks way better than pretty. But the base platform is the Raspberry Pi Pico. If you're not familiar, this is the model of Raspberry Pi that's not like the other Raspberry Pi single-board computers -- actually, it's a microcontroller, more like an Arduino than the original Pi. It can run C programs, or MicroPython, and I've even read that it will support CircuitPython. Our github provides details on the pins of the various devices on board. You are welcome to write and install your own firmware, for your own purposes.

It's modeled after Kabbalah, the tree of life, from Jewish mysticism hundreds of years ago, and frequently used in various forms of western esotericism.

It's a two board sandwich design, and comes with 2 AA batteries.

The hardware installed includes a display (the SSD1306 OLED), an NRF24L01+ wireless transceiver, and 32 RGB LEDs.

I should mention that the stock firmware also includes a vagus breathing assistant. If you've never tried breathing exercises that stimulate your vagus nerve, I strongly recommend it.
