Read More…I prefer to start a new design and initially build it using these kinds of prototyping boards, e.g. to validate part of the design. When your breadboard creation starts to look like a rats nest of interconnecting wires, then it’s perfect to grab a ‘Tiny Protoboard’, and tidy up things a bit.
Note: These are sold as panels, thus you get 12 boards per panel.
Description You don’t want to compromise on quality though. All holes are thru-plated for strength, and these won't peel off with rework. In the case these boards are laying around for a long time, pads are gold plated to prevent oxidation.
In summary, these are fabrication-quality boards and are an amazing value for the money.
Features The ‘Tiny Protoboard’ is fabricated in panels, and they are 12 times 1"x1" individual small tiny boards in each panel piece. Each panel has been made with proper v-grooves panelization, and they're easy enough to snap apart to individual 1" x 1" boards. This gives the individual board a relatively smooth edge.
The ‘Tiny Protoboard’ is plated on both sides so that you can solder components on either side of the board.
Each board is made in FR4, with a “blackish” solder mask and a white silk screen that indicates the rows and columns. There are gold plated (ENIG) on all copper pads on both sides.
• Actual individual board size: 25.4 x 25.4 mm ( 1.0” x 1.0”)
• Number of plated through holes: 81
• Number of rows/columns: 9/9.
• Drill hole diameter: 1 mm (39.4 mil)
• Hole grid: 0.254 mm (100 mil aka 0.1”)
• Copper thickness: 35 um (1.4 mil)
• Panel board weight: 16 g (0.56 oz)
Open Source This project is open source, so in the documentation, you will find KiCad PCB design files and gerbers for this board. We love designing, making, and releasing our projects as open source. We do it because we believe it's important to share knowledge and give back to the community as many have done before us. It helps us all learn and grow.
