What is it?

The AD1815 is a highly integrated sound-chip of the late 90s and the precedessor of the AD1816. It includes SB-Pro and WSS compatibility and is located on budget PnP ISA Soundcards. Drivers are easyily available and the installation also is quite easy - without any changes, it takes EA530 for WSS and EA220, IRQ5 and DMA 1/3 for SB-Pro if available, automaticly, and the installation-routine adds the SET-BLASTER string in the autoexec.bat. Just disable the noisy Headphone-AMP by jumper and you got a very nice, cheap, compatible and easy to use ISA-Soundcard for Retro-Gaming. Try to find one with Wavetable-Header if you may want to add one later on.
