What is it?

The ISA Super VGA card is based on the Trident TVGA9000i Super VGA controller IC. It offers excellent compatibility with the original IBM VGA, as well as a good emulation of older CGA, EGA, Hercules and MDA adapters. The ISA Super VGA card is intended to be used in computers with 8-bit ISA bus (also known as XT bus), such as IBM PC, IBM XT, and their clones. It will also work in 16-bit ISA slots of AT-compatible computers, but its performance will be inferior to 16-bit VGA cards.

Why did you make it?

Tin or gold plated PCB is optional, but I wouldn't make that without a PC case bezel. Fully assembled finished product with all components and tested on the ISA card slot of a P4 Pentium motherboard.

What makes it special?

Supports 256 kb or 512 kb video memory using two or four 256 Mbit x 4 DRAM ICs. 8088-friendly VGA BIOS. Only 6 ICs (SVGA IC, BIOS, four DRAM chips), some capacitors, resistors and inductors.

Excellent Video Card for Retro PC build

Card is amazing and works well in my Micro 8088 build - shipping cost is high though. I also wish it had come with a mounting bracket but that is available from Mouser
