What is it?

The ps98 project is a hardware chip music player developed by an anonymous Japanese (suspected to be the author of S98V3). This is a great project. The author of the project has been perfecting the project from 2006 to 2014, making it support music chips compatible with S98 format, and also support most VGM format chips, even 32-bit home computer audio Chips such as PS1 (SPU) and SS (SCSP) have surpassed SPFM in similar projects. Disadvantages of this project: Compared with independent players like MegaGRRL, ps98 must use PC as the host computer. Also it has incomplete support for VGM format and no program supports it except psl player. Compared with SPFM, there is still a big gap. SPFM currently supports many programs and simulators.
