What is it?

SEGA 315-5960 - The legendary Chinese version of the Mega Drive 2 module, usually appearing in Xintianli Super Game VCD.In fact, SEGA entered the Chinese mainland market through some obscure means.

Why did you make it?

Modular boards like this are easy to find in Chinese flea markets.

What makes it special?

This kind of module board is very well made and has almost no rust. Since it is usually built into the VCD, it is well protected. You buy it, and you get all the chips on the entire module board, including the rare single-chip Mega Drive 2. Or use the MCU to revive it, since this module has flex cables leading out to the audio and video interfaces. Someone made an unofficial MegaGRRL firmware that can directly load MD games within 4MB with this module.
It just so happens that I have the schematics for this module board, so it's even possible to make it into a full Mega Drive 2 (without Super CD functionality)
