Read More…This shield lets you control up to 16 hobby servos with your D1 Mini. You can stack up to 64 such shields, by changing the I2C address with the jumpers on the bottom. You can power the servos from 5V on the D1 Mini, or with an external power source, by changing the "power" jumper. This is compatible with Adafruit's servo shields, and works with their libraries.
There is no servo shield for the D1 Mini. This is bad, because to build robots you need to control hobby servos.
It's not particularly special. Just a straightforward breakout for the PCA9685 chip in a form factor that fits nicely on the D1 Mini. It's just convenient.
The boards I'm selling here are prototypes -- they use OSHPark's purple PCBs and they have been all assembled and tested by hand. If there is interest in them, I can make more. I'm selling them at the cost of parts.
