Why did you make it?

When I came across the BlueRetro project, I was clearly excited, it really is something I had always wanted for my retro consoles, so I started prototyping, suddenly someone else on twitter had made a blueretro N64 adapter, it seemed that I should give up on my efforts to build my own version, but before being able to buy from that person, it ran out of stock, months passed and it no longer had stock, so I excitedly decided to continue the project.

After talking with some fellow designers, I put together a team to follow the idea, after making a vision of what would be the best to manufacture, the pcb was designed, after tests it was designed, the 3D design arrived, we had some problems to find the necessary components, due to the lack of stock that exists in the world of electronic components, time passed and finally we had the product with the quality that is presented, of which we are proud.

It should always be noted that this project is carried out by executing the fabulous Blueretro open project from Darthcloud.

Pair your devices

• Connect the adapter to your Nintendo 64 console.
• Boot up BlueRetro and make sure adapter is in inquiry mode (LED pulsing)
• Pair the controller of your choice. (Please follow the instructions to put your controller into search pairing mode, you can see more help on the wiki.)
• After pairing your controller for the first time, you can reconnect by simply turning on your controller or pressing any button.

Button usage

• Short press (outside BT inquiry mode): Disconnect all Bluetooth devices from the adapter.
• Short press (BT inquiry mode): Cancel Bluetooth inquiry mode (new pairing).
• 3 sec hold: Enable Bluetooth inquiry mode (new pairing).
• 10 sec hold: Factory reset BlueRetro to default configuration and clear BT pairing keys.

LED status

• Solid: An error occured, try power cycle, check serial logs for detail.
• Pulsing: Bluetooth inquiry mode enable (new pairing).
• Off: No error and Bluetooth inquiry mode disabled.

Web configuration

• Power on system and connect via Web Bluetooth at https://blueretro.io to configure adapter.
• The config mode is only available if no controller is connected.
• Supported only in Desktop or Android Chrome

Firmware update via Web Config (FW OTA update)

• Go to https://blueretro.io/ota.html and connect to your BlueRetro adapter (make sure it's powered on and no controller connected).
• Select the BlueRetro_n64_spiffs*.bin you want then click Update Firmware button.
• Via PC Chrome update should take around 5 minutes, with Android Chrome it will take around 45 minutes (!!!).

*Download the latest firmware from the BlueRetro GitHub releases and extract the firmware file called "BlueRetro_n64_external.bin".

Caution

The adapter was successfully tested on several consoles using up to 4 ports, although this does not mean that if your power supply has significant wear due to time, it may present a problem, although it can be very rare that it happens.
