Easy build, but no ready-made firmware

For MIDI8d Plus

Was OK to build, not too complicated, just remember to solder the connector befor soldering the 3.5mm jacks.
I was a but dissappointed that there is no pre-compiled firmware with useful functions, but only some examples that have to be heavily customized and compiled.

Thank you for your review.

I'm really sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the absence of a pre-compiled firmware.

This module is dedicated to builders that are relatively confident with Arduino and its programming environment. But maybe I should emphasize more on this point.

It is also difficult to provide firmware that can adapt to everyone's needs on a module and interface as simple as those of the MIDI8d (or the UC Divider).
Maybe I could help you write one that can suit your specific needs? Feel free to contact me if you want.

The sketches provided are examples of simple features. They are nevertheless functional. And since the firmwares are open source, everyone can share improvements or new features.

I also thank you very much for pointing out that the inter-board connectors must be assembled before the jacks. I will soon add a more detailed step-by-step assembly procedure for the MIDI8d (Plus) and the UC Divider, which all share this kind of construction technique.

Easy to build, fun module!

For Simple VCO

This module is easy to build, all the steps and information is very well documented. It's also a lot of fun to build. The only 'difficulty' is getting Temperature Compensated resistors, but they're available on the internet. In my case, the oscillators are a tad unstable, which is perfect for the desired purpose of creating a drone like synth. Highly recommended :)

Indeed the tempco can be difficult to source. But it's not mandatory and can be replaced by a simple resistor.
About the instability you mention, it's probably caused by a variation on the power rails as the module doesn't have dedicated regulators/voltage references...
