Hooray.... my Pure Flow radio is resurrected from the trash.

Fiddly but not difficult to fit. Make sure the 2 connectors fit properly...dont force or wiggle them....It took me about an hour to do including double checking and double reading the instructions. The two screws they supply as they are longer were not necessary in my case. Maybe some are are manufactured slightly differently meaning the fixing holes could be slightly deeper or shallower.Nice and bright. Remote works perfectly. Just a different colour ....yellow but actually a good colour. Dont be put of. The instruction are good and clear. Derek Seagrim 20/01/2022

Display replacement kit for Pure Evoke Flow

Seemed quite daunting at first but after a few reads through and getting the back off the radio so you could really see what the instructions were about it was a simpler job. Not entirely simple, required patience and read everything again till you were clear what to do next.... But I got there without b******g it up and I now have a bright shiny fully working radio again! Yippeee!

Pixel perfect!!

After having bought an evoke for my mum many years ago, it has been stuck on one radio station due to the original oled failing. Having ordered the replacement kit, it came quickly and has great instructions for fitting. The only thing I did differently was connect the cable to the board before screwing it in place. Just found it a bit easier.
It is so great to have the radio display working again after all these years. Mr Pye, you have saved yet another radio that would otherwise have been consigned to the scrap heap. Thanks 👍

Really good- highly recommended

The display on my radio failed - I could just about read it in a darkened room but basically that was useless. The new display is great and has given the radio a new lease of life. The instructions are very good. The fitting is just a little tricky - probably not ideal for a complete novice - but it wasn't difficult. If your display has failed I'd certainly recommend this.

Replacement Display for Pure Evoke

Cannot fault this product in anyway, Notified when product was available after lack of stock indicated on website, easy ordering and payment, notifications from supplier until product arrived suitably wrapped and labelled. Easy to follow instructions on how to dismantle, fit, and reassemble. Switched on the radio..... fully functional again. Can only wholeheartedly recommend this replacement device to anyone who has a blank display on their Pure Evoke Radio.

So happy with this product

I was unable to use my radio because it was impossible to see something on the little screen. No more indications, all was dark. I installed the kit, I was under stress, but it was in fact easy, following the documentation. My radio is again usable and that makes me happy ! (France)

Good product and kept me informed of when next available

Overall the product is good and is perfect replacement. One issue - instructions may need to be updated to include additional wire to the radio's handle (on some models) - this is not shown or mentioned in the guidance.

Excellent replacement part, easy to fit. Good instructions.

The replacement parts kit was sent quickly, well packaged and with excellent communication and guidance from Mr PYE.
There is also a superb fitting guide available on his website, with good images and information to make fitting the part very straightforward.
In addition, the purchase price was very reasonable!
(I repaired the 'In-Laws' radio set and they have been delighted with the result!)

Fantastic. Easy to fit, works as intended

Delivery was prompt and well packaged.

The instructions were spot on and exactly matched what I needed to do right down to the smallest detail.

The display even had the word "TOP" written on the back so there was no chance I'd have installed it upside down (I would have).

Brillant - great replacement display

Brillant - great replacement display, which looks and works like the original Pure one that fails prematurely. Fitting instructions are clear, well thought out and easy to follow - I was slightly worried about fitting the display, but I shouldn't have been! Great to have my Pure radio back in a usable condition with a working display - highly recommended to anyone out there with the frustration of a Pure radio that they can't use because of a failed display. Thanks to David Pye (& Tindie): our old Pure is again alive.

This is miraculous and most charming, since the followup models don't match with the F4 in design and sound. It was very easy to get the new display going, since David provided a very detailed description, with every step thoroughly documented, also by photographs. New display works now pristine, so does the whole radio. The communication also was far over the average of internet-shopping-mails. Very friendly, precise and fast.

Works Fantastic

Bright display. Directions were very good. My radio looked slightly different inside, but not a problem at all to figure out what went where. The new display was just slightly larger than the old one. I wanted the screen to sit exactly where the olde one was so i trimmed away little plastic positioning nubs on my radios plastic display frame and the screen sat in fine.

First-class display replacement for Evoke Flow

My Evoke Flow's original display had faded to black several years ago which meant it was stuck on Radio 4 - I dare not try to change station in case I ended up with nothing. David's kit arrived quickly and was easy to fit and I now have a radio that's as good as new and I never have to listen to Radio 4 again! Internet radio also works after downloading a firmware update from Pure - very happy and would recommend to anyone with one of these fine radios.

Excellent!

Perfect replacement for the failed display on my Pure Evoke Flow radio. Works as expected. Only slight negative was that the online instructions did not correspond fully to the kit and this might confuse inexperienced repairers (mention of the mounting frame being included - it is not - and a photo of the PCD what is different form that supplied). However, the correct procedure is quite intuitive and straightforward.
Overall, a very satisfactory purchase.

Brilliant!

My Pure Evoke Flow was suffering, as so many do, with a barely readable faded display.
Did some research and found this replacement which was very easy to fit, in about 20 minutes, following the incredibly comprehensive instructions supplied.
Display is now back to 100% and I can actually see what I’m listening to again.
It was so much cheaper than throwing away the old radio. I’m sure that I’ve got a few more years of listening pleasure left now.

A great way to brong your Pure Evoke back from the dead - the unit is a perfect replacement for the original. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and the whole process takes around 30 minutes - really good value too.

Great for Pure Evoke Flow radio

Clear instructions supplied to replace display. Process a bit fiddly with removing the internal screws to the original display - easiest to use a slimmer full size screwdriver than jewellers size. Be careful when using the adhesive to position the display as it sticks fast. The display is yellower and brighter than the original but a small price to pay to have a usable radio again. Very pleased with the product and finished result.

Breathing new life into a favourite device

I had given up ever getting the screen working again on my trusty old evoke flow. It had finally faded to nothing about 5 years ago, and I stopped using it last year as t was getting harder guessing where the channels had moved to.

This module is a bit fiddly to install but not difficult . The hardest part was removing the old glass screen from the holder as it had been firmly glued in place. Apart from that the upgrade was incredibly smooth. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

An excellent product that works brilliantly.

Replacement OLED screen for pure evoke flow wifi radio

This replacement was perfect so easy to fit with the detailed instructions. I had thought i would have to purchase a new radio as we use it all the time but the screen is as bright now as when it was new. Its a pity you have no more screens as several members of my family have the same radio and are starting to loose their brightness. Thank you.

Flimsy connector broke and so radio binned

I bought this with great hope as it seemed like a great way to revive my long since unusable radio. Upon reading the instructions there was a note that one of the components had been changed due to supply issues. So with the best of care I assembled the radio and display replacement and when I put it back together and tested it the display did not work. Frustrated I took it apart and then noticed that the same connector had broken off the board. Radio binned as it should have been as it would have saved me the time and money.

Absolutely great

After several years, the display of our Evoke Flow became completely blank quite quickly over a short period of time. I was reluctant to chuck it away and searched the internet for a solution. It seemed that all the sources for replacement displays had been exhausted, but then I stumbled upon this kit on tindie. The kit was very promptly dispatched (despite Covid). Once received I downloaded the repair procedure, which was clear and straightforward. Job took me maybe half an hour. Display now bright and brilliant! Three cheers for David Pye!

Excellent alternative

Excellent replacement for original display. Maybe slight issue in brightness management (display seems bright, even in the dark) and maybe slowing down a bit radio booting.
Fits perfectly in place, nothing missing in the kit, including the slightly longer screws necessary for adaptation.
Assembly instructions crystal clear. Great deal overall!

Great to be able to repair something!

The replacement screen came through the post quickly (shipped same day as ordered and delivered a few working days later to UK) and the instruction document online (on this page and with the URL given in the note in the box with the screen), were clear and easy to follow.

In my Evoke Flow there was extra glue holding in the old screen mount. I contacted the seller for some advice and he quickly replied suggesting I carefully remove the old glue with a blunt knife and avoid levering the glue away too close to the screw mounts. That worked a treat , as the glue was old, once some was carefully lifted and broke away the rest came off without too much trouble, just as the seller advised. The rest of the screen install went smoothly as per the instructions.

I now have a working screen again and will be able to use the radio for a little longer. It's great to have been able to fix it myself and very grateful that someone with the necessary expertise has provided the parts to do so! Many thanks!

Excellent

Received product within 10 days (Netherlands), well packaged, with included 2 longer screws for re-installing with clear instruction where to apply them.
Instructions on internet excellent, clear step-by-step documented.
I (not an experienced technician at all) did it in 20 minutes.
One little thing, the original cable from the display tapers slightly off towards the end which makes it easier to slide into the plastic guiding groove thru the bracket.
The new cable is not tapered, so I could not use the groove. I don't think it matters as there is no tension on the cable at all.

Brilliant! We got our radio back ! GREAT PRODUCT!

Clear instructions, fast delivery. Really easy to install! What's not to like ! , Took about 20mins or so all in.
Works a a treat it's a really really bright display. Although... I am going to miss taking our kitchen radio into the cupboard under the stairs with all the lights out just to change the channel once every 6 months or so!.

If your on this page and not sure don't even think about buying a new radio, buy this !! 10 years since we bought our pure flow radio and it's still the best sounding radio we have - more so as of today when we can see the display for the 1st time in 4 or 5 years! . Thanks again! - Rory

New Pure Evoke Screen (by David Pye) Replaced and WORKS

Sourced a replacement screen together with board from David Pye in UK. Screen, Board and two extra length screws arrived very well packaged.
David has provided a down loadable PDF of fitting instructions from his website for those purchasing his invention.
Instructions are very clear and step by step with pictures making it very easy.
Working with caution and as a novice, it took about 1 hour including setting up work space and two small Philips head screw drivers.
Simply, the old screen is disconnected and removed, the New Screen is inserted and connected to newly provided Circuit Board, Reconnected to two ribbons, everything is screwed down and that's it. Turn on power, self tunes and wonderful Display lights up and works as new.
Highly recommended. Appears to be the only simple working solution out there.

Excellent & Easy Fix

Like other review mentions - kit arrived in good time containing everything I needed & exactly as described for an easy installation.
The way the kit has been put together & detailed online instructions written so well that anyone who knows how to use a screw driver with a little care & a light touch, can easily do the repair.
Only tools required were a mini screwdriver set, like you'd use for adjusting spectacles screws.
