What is Coffee Cup?

Coffee Cup is a breakout board that includes everything you need to start a project using a single cell Lithium-ion or Lithium-Polymer battery.

It has battery charging, battery protection and battery monitoring. Additionally it has an ON/OFF controller and power MUX.

The push-button on the board sets the EN and /EN outputs high and/or low when pressed. Connect EN pin to the enable pin of a voltage regulator to turn on power to you project. You can also connect a P-Channel MOSFET if the voltage regulator you're using does not have an enable pin.

You can also connect an external push-button to the BTN pin, or a logic signal (active low).

The power MUX auto selects Vout pin to be USB power when USB is connected. When USB is connected Coffee Cup is designed to charge and power your project.

The LED to the left of the USB-C is the charging LED indicator. The right LED lets you know when charging is complete.

PCB has a S2B battery connector and external pins.

It is using the MAX17048 fuel gauge IC. This IC has an Arduino library.

Why did you make the Coffee Cup?

Most of the things I want to build is battery powered and this way I can include a lot of features easily, now so can you.
