What is it?

This is a compact wireless soil moisture sensor, supports working in Zigbee networks. (Zigbee2mqtt open source project, ZHA open source project). The device has an industrial look, at least, I wanted to achieve this. The sensor has very good energy efficiency. Powered by CC2530 chip (Zigbee). The device comes with pre-installed open source software.

Why did you make it?

I am interested in making original devices that are not on sale.

Right now, I'm very interested in low-power, cost-effective wireless devices.

What makes it special?

RF module EBYTE E18-MS1-PCB (CC2530).

Long runtime with one CR2450 battery, it is possible to work on a CR2577 battery (950mA)

Consumption in data transmission mode - 25mA, in sleep mode 1.9μA.

Two buttons (join, reset).

Protection of the device from reverse polarity of the battery.

The case is printed on an MJF 3D printer.

An updated version of the sensor with an e-ink display is available

Buddy, please calm down. Delivery is different, somewhere fast, somewhere slow. You can try to buy these devices somewhere else. I will gladly accept the devices back, please send them.

It is not plug & play.

I was unable to connect it to the Zigbee2Mqtt. The sensor came broken - I had to solder the battery socket because it fell off.

One of those products that make tindie worthwhile!

Remarkably simple device combining a well documented principle with zigbee while living open source! Shipping from russia takes its time, but this is nothing the seller can be blamed for. It took a little bit less than a month to arrive in the EU and was well packaged. Seller promptly responded to questions I could not find immediate answers in the documentation after the products arrived. Absolutely a buy again item!
