What is it?

It is a wireless temperature, pressure and humidity sensor, supports working in Zigbee networks. (Zigbee2mqtt open source project). Built on CC2530 chip (Zigbee), two modications: Ebyte E18-MS1PA2-PCB radio module with amplifier and Ebyte E18-MS1-PCB. Powered by the most common AAA batteries. The device comes with pre-installed open source software. Supported inZ2M, ZHA

Why did you make it?

I am interested in making original devices that are not on sale.

Right now, I'm very interested in low-power, cost-effective wireless devices.

What makes it special?

RF module EBYTE E18-MS1PA2-PCB (CC2530) or Ebyte E18-MS1-PCB.

BME280 or BMP280

Long runtime with two AAA battery.

Consumption in data transmission mode ~25mA|50mA, in sleep mode 1.8μA.

The case is printed on an FDM 3D printer. After printing, sanding and polishing is applied.

Cool sensor

The sensors arrived very well packed, and without any damage. It took a bit long for them to get shipped, but still arrived in a very reasonable timeframe.
Setup was pretty painless - it might do with a bit better documentation (leaflet with instructions, marking the buttons, and noting somewhere how often the measurements are made), but shipped as is it was still very easy to figure it out and link to my Zigbee network.
It's supported out of the box by zigbee2mqtt so no issues there, software wise it was all very smooth.

One improvement I could note would be adding an option for a white enclosure, as right now the sensor can get a hotter than the ambient air when exposed to sunlight.

As is, I still think this is the best sensor available for this purpose.

As described and of good quality

Temp/Humid/Pressure sensor arrive after a few weeks, which is fine considering it had to pass through customs. The item was well packaged, took a bit to get it open.

First impressions:
- case is phenomenal, looks and feels good, exceeded expectations
- board looks clean and well soldered

Practical notes:
- need tiny screw driver to open case (ifixit kit to the rescue)
- comes pre-flashed, which is a nice as it saves you the hassle of flashing it yourself
- pairing took a few tried, I ended up needing to reset it to get it to pair

Reporting:
I decided to tweak the default reporting a bit to make it match some of my other sensors, this seems to work fine and the device accepts the new configuration without issue.

Update: looks like the device ignores the 'change' property of the reporting. I have min=0, max=1800, change=10 for temperature and it only updates once 30 min (1800 sec) has past, even if the temperature varied more than 0.1 C. I also tried 50 for 0.5C and with a min of 60 seconds, it always reports at max without taking into account the change parameter.

Update 2: looks like the change values are hardcoded in the firmware, I'm in now way smart enough to fix and compile a new firmware, the values are: 33, 50, 10 for temperature, humidity, and pressure.

Will leave it inside to see how it functions before moving it outside after a few weeks to replace a cheaper mass produced temperature sensor.

NOTE: so far no communication with the seller, as this wasn't needed
