What is it?

A fully assembled, Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Official Desktop Starter Kit, supplied preloaded with the highly active, open-source (Apache 2.0 Licensed) home automation platform, called "Home Assistant". Note: I'm in no way affiliated with the developers of this project. Like myself, I highly encourage people to contribute to this community-supported project, such as adding features to the code, improving documentation and helping people via forums.

"Home Assistant" (Also known as HASS.IO) is an established open-source home automation platform, based on Python 3. Supported by a worldwide community of volunteers and enthusiasts, focused on creating the ultimate home automation hub. The contributors and developers have put great value on privacy and local control, so unlike many other home automation systems, it will continue to work even if the internet connection goes down. The project has over 1,000 add-ons with new ones added most weeks, with almost everything, such as: Alexa, Google Assistant, Let’s Encrypt and Duck DNS. See their huge list of available Add-Ons

Why did you make it?

From personal experience, many very technically minded individuals find it daunting to get started, uncertain they are ordering the right parts, how to format and correctly flash an image to SD card, first boot, debugging issues and testing. I'm providing a service to deliver a complete product where all that has been taken care of.

What makes it special?

I'm happy to give my time to help and support get people started with their new Home Automation Hub, get it connected to their home network, configured and potentially offer a fee-based support service.
