UPDATE 17/7/2022

Hello, I finally finished, after almost 1,5 year, next batch of boards 🙂. Please read whole update before placing an order!

I finished 2 revisions of the board. Revision A, which I was already selling here and revision D, which is similar in layout and shape as my rev. C, but with fixed tracks for HDMI, which was not working in rev.C . If anyone would like unpopulated PCB for rev.C, I will add those to the listing as well. Price is starting at $1 because of this bare PCB!

I built all board in my spare time, that is the reason why it took so long, and I did not want to put in stock just part of the boards as here is quite a number of people who wants boards and if I will do that, there will probably be quickly no stock and lots of people would lost interest in this board and they would not subscribe again to the waitlist.

Number of people in waitlist is also reason why I would except order for maximum 2 boards per address! You can order 2 pcs of same revision or 1 pcs for each revision. I will not supply bulk orders as I want wide spread of the boards. I´m reserving right to cancel any order which will be against this rule.

Also please note, that there is camera connector at rev.D board, but this is not detecting camera. I discover that after I had all board done, but because I would destroy this connector when I would try to take it off, it was better to leave it at the board. Price for rev.D is defferent in price of connector and my work.

I tested all board for HDMI signal, power and USB connectivity. I was not able to test BOOT button as I do not have CM4 board with eMMC, but I copied this part from board where this circuit worked (before my CM4 with eMMC died 😕).

I wanted to design some carrier board for Raspberry Pi compute module for a long time but I was scared of the slot which goes to and with all that high speed stuff which you need to know do design this.

This board is based on design from Prof. Fartsparkle´s project at Hackaday.io where he showed that this can be done at home with one layer PCB and CNC mill.

I made this board originaly to use it with Prusa printer as replacement of RPi Zero, but after I assembled it I realized that I will do it differently so I have no use for it, but someone else could use it for something so here it is.

There is not many boards for CM4 to buy, but they will be on the market soon, so if you want to play with it now, here is you chance!

This board has some limitations:

• spacing between ports (HDMI & USB) is too close so you have to use cables with thinner plastic on sides
• there is error in design where pinout for Prusa Einsy board is mirrored so this board can not be used for it´s original purpose. You can cut traces and make new ones but that is not worth it for me.
• there is just one USB so if you want to use CM4 without WiFi/BT onboard, you have to use some USB hub to connect more devices.

I tested this board with LCD monitor, with TV and even with 4K TV and it can display 4K resolution but I did not made any performance test with it, but you can find those at Youtube. 1080p playback is without problem.

With this order you will get just this carrier board, I do not sell this with CM4!
